High Steel's Lancaster Facilities Demonstrate Excellence in Safety

We at High Steel Structures are proud to be a longstanding partner with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration through participation in its Voluntary Protection Program. OSHA recognizes businesses that go above and beyond regulatory compliance through excellence in safety and health management systems, management commitment to workplace safety, and coworker participation.
STAR VPP is the highest level of recognition in the VPP program, and High Steel has been a VPP Star site for nearly 20 continuous years. Businesses in the VPP program must recertify every three to five years.
Recertification is an intensive process, involving a full review of all safety and health programs, recordkeeping, coworker interviews, and a walkthrough of all work areas. HSS Lancaster was due for recertification this year, with a Compliance Assistance Specialist (CAS) from OSHA and a team of Special Government Employees (SGEs) from other VPP companies visiting our site the week of April 9, 2024.
During the week, the CAS and his SGEs spent hours reviewing our safety programs, interviewing coworkers, and touring our operations. During the interviews and walkthroughs, the team noted the company's excellence and commitment to safety and health efforts at our facility.
HSS Lancaster is proud to announce that we have received word from the OSHA Area Administrator that we have been approved for continued participation in the VPP program as a Star site. This is a major accomplishment for any business but even more so in our challenging industry.
