AISC Lifetime Achievement Award was Presented at NASCC: The Steel Conference

Lifetime Achievement Award Recognizes Significant Contributions to Steel Bridge Industry
John O’Quinn, President of High Steel Structures, was among six industry professionals presented with Lifetime Achievement Awards at the 2025 NASCC: The Steel Conference. The award recognizes living individuals who have significantly impacted the success of the AISC and the structural steel industry.
As a testament to his impact during the past four decades, the AISC Award Nominations Board cited John’s distinguished career in steel fabrication, which has spanned top leadership roles at two southern fabrication companies, ownership of his own firm, and his current role as president at High Steel.
John's many contributions to the industry include two terms on the AISC Board of Directors, serving on the National Steel Bridge Alliance Executive Council, and chairing several bridge committees. “Most importantly,” the board noted, “John has been a go-to stalwart when AISC needed a spokesperson to address a bridge issue with technical groups, the media, and the general public.”
In response to the award, John remarked, “It’s a true honor to be included in this outstanding group of incredibly talented and dedicated individuals striving to better our industry.”
The award was presented during the opening session of NASCC: The Steel Conference on April 2, 2025, in Louisville, Kentucky.
